Abstract

This is a case study-type of research with the general goal of building a program of systematic actions related to the transition period from Early Childhood Education to Elementary Education, trying to consolidate the relations between these two steps of the Basic Education. The research will take place in two Elementary Schools and four Early Childhood Education schools in the municipal system of Campinas, São Paulo. The participants will be the pedagogical advisors of the units, part of the managers, the teachers responsible for the students who will transition to the Elementary School and the teachers of the first years of Elementary School, their students and families, as well as pedagogical coordinators of Basic Education. The procedures will be the organization of study groups with the teachers, advisors and managers; analysis of documents pertaining to the municipal system; production of narratives by the teachers and pedagogical advisors; observation of the school routine; interviews with family members and the children. The results will be based on the identification of indicators found in each of the realities and in the scientific literature on the subject that will be used as reference to build a successful transition process. From this process, instruments and actions will be created to generate the conditions to validate and incorporate the school experiences in the transition process from Early Childhood Education to Elementary Education, consolidated in the production of digital materials (preferably, e-books) that will be available for the municipal system as a way to contribute with the construction of public policies for early childhood.
