Effect of Moiré pattern on physical properties of twisted van der Waals heterostructures

Abstract

The long-term goal of the project is to start a collaboration to contribute to the applied and fundamental physics of emerging van der Waals heterostructures and the development of new applications of devices based on these. In order to meet this goal, the project will have the following specific objectives: (1) Implement strategies to achieve high-quality 2D samples/devices; (2) Study the effects of moiré patter on exciton-exciton interaction and quantum yield of IEs (2) Study the electronic and optical properties of these heterostructures with different twisted angles; (3) Apply the obtained conclusions to design/model novel van der Waals devices; (4) Develop and test prototypes; (5) discuss opportunities for future grants and long-term collaboration.
