Quantum Rio network


The project consists in the construction and establishment of a metropolitan quantum communication network connecting the institutions PUC-Rio, CBPF and UFRJ through optical fibers of the Rede Rio, and the UFF institution with a free space link and/or using a "live" optical fiber. Initially, we will implement the MDI-QKD quantum cryptography protocol to enable secure communication between two nodes of the network independently, without any additional security assumptions. This project will establish the necessary conditions for the further implementation of several quantum communication protocols, including quantum computing in the cloud, paving the way for the integration of Brazil to the quantum internet.
