Digital workflow consolidates an innovative modality in the health area. In Dentistry, recent research demonstrates a promising field for automated prototyping of dental restorations by 3D-printing, although a major challenge is to work with both three-dimensional technology and dental materials. The present research project aims to characterize the mechanical, optical and surface properties of a resin composite for 3D-printing compared to other materials available on the marketplace, improving its physical properties by adding niobium oxyhydroxide (NbO2OH). The first phase of this project involves one study factor (resins) on three levels: 3D-printing resin (Next DentTM C&B), bis-acrylic resin (ProtempTM 4, 3M ESPE) and microhybrid composite resin (Filtek Z350, 3M ESPE). The variables of the study will be: color stability after aging, hardness and flexural strength. For the second phase, NbO2OH will be incorporated into the printed 3D-resin. Two factors will be analyzed at different levels: Resin (1 level - Resin for 3D printing) (Next DentTM C&B), NbO2OH in different concentrations (4 levels - 0.5%, 1%, 2.5% and 5%), which will be determined in a pilot study. The variables of thi phase will be: flexural strength, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), color stability after artificial aging and hardness. After data collection, statistical analysis will be performed considering significance levels of 5%. (AU)
