Cognitive impairment is reported by up to 80% of patients with SLE and has a major impact on patient's quality of life and daily functioning. Several centers, including our two, have studied this important area, however we are amongst only a few that have systematically applied advanced neuroimaging techniques alongside neuropsychological testing. This SPRINT proposal will drive forward international efforts to harmonise the optimal suite of measures and agree shared definitions and technical approaches to the clinical and neuroimaging evaluation of SLE patients with cognitive impairment. Thus paving the way for multicenter studies and trials that will be essential to advance this field towards patient benefit. (AU)
