Abstract

This project proposes the use of the EIS technique combined with WetSEM for studyng Portland cement kinetics hydration containing ashes from agro-industrial residues. The project aims to study and categorize the mechanisms that govern the physico-chemical kinetics of hydration, phases formation/transformation and porous constitution of the Portland cement and Portland cement with sugarcane bagasse, rice and bamboo ashes correlating them by means of electrical measurements (EIS) and imaging (WetSEM). The joint use of the techniques aims, in an innovative way, to individualize the electrical behavior of both the cement phases, as well as the influence of the ash in its constitution in impedance curves, a fact that has not yet been developed. In addition to the innovative aspects mentioned, this also has an important factor in addressing a problem on a global scale, through the use of agro-industrial waste, aiming at an appropriate disposal for these, in addition to adding an important technological characteristic to Portland cement.
