Abstract

The main objective of this proposal is to produce specific instrumentation for evaluation of individual radiation dose of health professionals, through an electronic dosimetry system based on the principles of IoT (Bluetooth 4.1), which meets all national and international quality requirements for radiation dosimetry. The proposed technology has the potential to generate a national impact on the control of personal dosimetry, using active dosimeter, especially by generating an automated process and in real time for the determination of occupational doses, unlike the current ones in use in Brazil that do not generate any kind of direct interface with the user. The dosimeters currently used in Brazil are passive dosimeters and need to be sent monthly to the services accredited by the Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN) for reading and control of the occupational doses. It is worth pointing out that there is no electronic dosimeter being manufactured in Brazil with national technology and, internationally, few with the characteristics of the product to be developed. The knowledge in developments already made by Konex may be enough to transform this proposal into a promising product in relation to conventional dosimetry technologies, meeting all the needs of the domestic market. For this, the developers are aware that all hardware and software architecture should reflect good usability, making the product competitive if compared to existing ones in the international market. The company responsible for this proposal (Konex Ind. e Com. LTDA) is a medium-sized company with 18 collaborators and 44 years of existence. It is currently a national reference in radiological protection items and since 2018 has been dedicated to the development of radiological technologies for diagnostic and interventional applications in terms of accessories and instrumentation. We can cite as some completed projects: Fantomes for quality control of medical images (11 registered at Anvisa) and non-invasive meters for performance verification of X-Ray equipment (3, in the process of registration). The possibility of offering this product will bring to the company a greater expertise in the development of electronic equipment, radiation detection, and software development, significantly increasing the innovative level of the company and mainly, fostering the qualification of personnel for the development of projects in its area of activity, placing it as a pioneer in the national market and an international reference for producing all the necessary technologies for the management of ionizing radiation. As for the control of occupational doses, the diffusion of a reliable and precise active dosimetric system can contribute to the safety of the professionals in the health area, with the potential that in the near future the data can be aggregated to the CNEN's database, placing the country in the vanguard in this type of technology applied to radiological protection.
