Application plan of the resources of the Institutional Technical Reserve, Faculty of Public Health, Year 2021.

Abstract

In 2016, the School of Public Health (SPH) updated its wireless network infrastructure with FAPESP's RTI resources, with the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment managed by a controller, making the PortalFSP, FSPNet, CSEGPS and eduroam networks available to research, teaching and extension activities. Over the years, some equipment available on the FSP wireless network has been discontinued by its manufacturers due to new technologies that cannot absorb such changes with only logical updates. The equipment in question is of the Aruba IAP-205 model, which today has 57 units distributed on the unit's premises. Equipment in this state can generate security flaws in the institution's network and restrict access to new technologies available on the market, such as the new Wi-Fi 6 standard (802.11ax) and IoT standards (bluetooth 5 and Zigbee). This project proposes to a) update the wireless network system for use by the entire FSP / USP community, b) Stata multiuser license update, and c) preventive maintenance of multiuser ultrafreezers. The time for this update will be opportune while most of the users are working remotely, making it possible for them to return in person with the updated and secure wireless network. (AU)
