Multi-user Equipment approved in grant 2013/50238-3: Gaseous Emissions Bench


This equipment's exhaust emissions measurement is based on a FTIR (Fourier-Transform InfraRed) spectrometer that measures multiple gas components with 5 Hz at a high spectral resolution in real time operation. Measurement data, internal system variables and parameters can be recorded during a test and shown online in a time-based diagram during the test. The measurement method is suitable for in depth investigation of transient processes in combustion engines and can be used for all kind of exhaust gas measurements. The evaluation methods can analyze and evaluate the gas mixture of different fuels (including gasoline, diesel and ethanol) and applications. Each evaluation method includes between 20 and 30 gas components, such as CO, CO2, H2O, NO, NO2, N2O, NH3, NOX, with separated measurement of diverse hydrocarbons, carbonyls, alcohols and more. All components are measured in a single scan by using the same sample probe in the same measurement gas cell and are perfectly synchronous and time aligned. (AU)
