Affirmative actions and policies for LGBTI students in universities: a study between Brazil, Chile and Spain

Abstract

The objective of this investigation is to carry out a comparative study on the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transgender, intersex and other expressions of sexualities and genders (LGBTI +) with affirmative/inclusive actions and policies at universities in three Iberian countries Americans: Brazil, Chile and Spain. Faced with various processes of exclusion and violence experienced by the LGBTI + population, the university becomes an important place for the production of visibility and access to quality education rights for a population that was and is made invisible by the discriminatory and excluding practices of a culture cis/heteronormative. The research objects will be six universities, two from each listed country. The data of the documents, questionnaires and interviews will be analyzed from the assumptions of the Content Analysis, considering the identification, description and comparison of thematic units and the grouping by recurrence and similarity of the answers. After organizing the analyzed material, comparisons between the three contexts will be made and considerations will be made from the studies on LGBTI + rights and the queerfeminist intersectional perspectives on education.
