Abstract

Precision Medicine combines environmental influences, bioinformatics, and individualized patient information for greater medical efficiency. New technologies have been essential in establishing competitive differentials in the medical field. In this context, Precision Medicine takes care of the patient's health exclusively, individually, taking into account their entire history. Also, analyzing each case concerning clinical, genetic and lifestyle data. The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on different sectors of the economy is a fact and the prospects for changing scenarios in different markets. In this context, AI has been opening new fields of opportunity and applications. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Economic Forum estimates that the fourth industrial revolution is expected to move $ 100 trillion over the next 10 years across all sectors, industries, and regions of the world. We are proposing to develop the 1st Hospital Platform of Artificial Intelligence in Latin America for precision drug dosing. The outcomes of this initiative could consolidate a new competitive differential for companies in the health sector, maximizing patient care, minimizing errors, reducing the length of stay and costs. The funding from this proposal will be exclusively for investment in human resources, aiming to develop a functional prototype, called PreciseDose, designed as a platform for precision dosing and monitoring of medicines for the health sector. The technology will be delivered as a software as a service platform for desktop and mobile phones. The platform could be incorporated by physicians and nurses for patient care in hospitals and specialized clinics. To calculate a more accurate dose of medications, the app will integrate artificial intelligence and big data to relate age, weight, ethnicity, population genetics, chronic disease, and drug interaction information. The indication of the optimal dose with the best pharmacokinetic parameters will respect the limits previously established in the clinical studies of the drug, following the dosage ranges studied and approved by the competent regulatory agencies. Therefore, the platform will deliver precision medicine to assist physicians in making drug dosing decisions quickly, intuitively, safer and personalized to patient care. (AU)
