Abstract

Currently, the cosmetics industry is undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing sectors, remaining unchanged during periods of economic crisis. According to research, the global cosmetics market was valued at about $ 532 billion in 2017 and is expected to reach approximately $ 863 billion by 2024. In 2018, Brazil became the third country, behind only Japan and the United States. States, with the largest aesthetic market. This positive scenario serves as an incentive for several technological innovations, increasing market demand. Among the global trends, nanotechnology has increasingly involved companies and researchers from leading Brazilian universities. Nanocosmetic formulations have superior properties compared to conventional cosmetics because the ability to carry the nano-shaped assets allows them to acquire much more interesting physicochemical and biological properties, including not only the protection of the assets but also improvements in the process of release and skin permeation. , transforming the cosmetics in dermocosmetics. In addition to nanotechnology, the world market is also investing in nanobiotechnology, making the natural assets remain with their nutritional and antioxidant properties, but protected and directed to the target site of action. So, thinking about these trends, the present project is to develop a liposome serum nanoformulation, containing the natural active, astaxanthin, and hyaluronic acid. For this, the formulations developed will be physically and chemically characterized, and for the analysis of release and skin permeation in this first phase will be performed in vitro tests, as well as cytotoxicity assays and collagen quantification. The combination of a powerful antioxidant, which acts by neutralizing free radicals, besides inhibiting the synthesis of melanin, acting as a depigmentant, plus the action of an active that stimulates collagen production, thus has an unprecedented dermocosmetic, with characteristics that meet the new market demand, besides offering a technological innovation.
