Crop production is strongly affected by soil particle density levels, called soil compaction.Widely studied in Brazil and worldwide, the compaction of agricultural soils can negatively impact on root development, making the crop susceptible to stress, such as water deficit and nutrients need.To avoid theses damage, farmers use soil decompression equipment through soil tillage operations such as subsoiling and soil harrowing.These agricultural practices demand high fuel consumption per hectare, which considerably increases production costs and environmental impacts resulting CO2 emissions from soil and diesel consumption by agricultural machines.To mitigate this, there is the possibility of localized soil compaction management, that is, promte the soil tillage only in regions where has actually soil compaction. However, the technological challenge is to make a diagnosis with precision and low cost. Thus, the CROPMAN - Agricultural Innovation presents this project aiming to create a diagnostic protocol compression agricultural soils using proximal sensor apparent electrical conductivity, associated with soil data mining and analytical intelligence, which will hand in to its customers the spatial map of soil compaction and the working depth of subsoiler / scarifier stems in order to implement localized soil tillage management. If the protocol is accurate and economically feasible to execute, we plan to scale this service through our developing Smart Sampling digital platform (PIPE FAPESP Phase 2 Direct 2018 / 08555-5), continuing this project in a PIPE phase. 2.
