The present project aims at the development of a circuit capable of interrogating SnO2 nanowire-based sensors for the detection of CO and CO2. Currently, commercial sensors either have a high added value or low sensitivity. In addition, this work has as one of its approaches the development of a device that could, in the future, serve as a sensor network for the monitoring of fire outbreaks in the region of the state of Tupã. For this, different configurations and geometries of devices will be tested: i) a single nanowire; ii) nanowire film. In both cases, metal porphyrin functionalized devices will be tested to improve sensory response and sensitivity. The electric response will be analyzed for the current-voltage and current-time characterization at room temperature and with the device under heating under different concentrations of the study gases. An important factor for the development of sensory devices is related to their sensitivity, so a study on the functionalization of nanowires will be carried out based on structural characterizations such as X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), lightning spectroscopy -X by energy dispersion (EDX) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). This allows greater sensitivity/selectivity of the devices. Another important point in the project in question is the nucleation of a laboratory of study of sensors with application in diverse biosystems in the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering of the Tupã Unesp.
