German culture and digital technologies in elementary and high school

Abstract

Contemporary society has as important marks the quick exchange of information and the frequently confrontation with diversity, characteristics that have a strong impact on new social practices of different spheres. Such characteristics require greater criticality, openness to alterity and the review of stereotypes. In this perspective, and assuming that teaching foreign languages is not restricted to the decoding of an abstract system of linguistic codes, but also to the amplification of new sociocultural universes, this research intends, in the first moment, to contribute to the development of the repertoire of sociocultural and intercultural competences (BYRAM, GRIBKOVA and STARKEY, 2002; SOLOMÃO, 2015) of the community of a school in the interior of São Paulo. In a second stage, it is intended to contribute to the ongoing training of teachers for the pedagogical use of the TDICs in the classroom, so that they can respond to a strongly present demand among students and use the potential of these new tools for Education processes. For the proposed objectives, there will be activities such as workshops, lectures, serenades, cultural fairs, classroom interventions, discussion of films, advising for teachers, etc. It is expected, therefore, to contribute to a better adaptation of the school community to the new demands of the contemporary world and to the better training of students and faculty.
