University-public school collaboration in the construction of more inclusive policies, practices and cultures

Abstract

An inclusive school is the one that embraces diversity and promotes development respecting the peculiarities of each one. The main objective of this project is to implement a collaborative partnership, through collaborative advice, between universities and basic education public schools in order to extend / promote more inclusive policies, practices and cultures. The specific objectives are: a) To carry out and evaluate actions that promote the development of special needs children and adolescents in their biological, social, affective and cognitive dimensions, aiming at overcoming inequalities through an inclusive culture; b) To develop the formation of special needs students and teachers through the orientation of didactic-pedagogical activities that promote the development of autonomy; c) Assist the elaboration, adaptation and evaluation of didactic-pedagogical strategies with the use of pedagogical materials and technological tools; d) Collaborate in the planning of the democratic Political-Pedagogical Project that contemplates a more inclusive political, practical and social vision; e) Enabling actions that favor the analysis, evaluation and establishment of goals aimed at improving learning and school performance; f) Enable actions that favor the improvement of the school environment and interpersonal relationships based on a diagnosis already made, contributing to develop an inclusive culture; g) To evaluate the collaborative partnership in the development of curricula and more inclusive practices. The methodology involves action research in a collaborative partnership between university and four public schools, and the participants are composed of the school communities (employees, students and families) of Elementary and Middle School. This proposal is based on a pilot study "Implementation and evaluation of a continuing education program through collaborative consulting in a public school" developed between 2010 and 2012, sponsored by "Evaluation of the quality of education offered to students Target Audience of Education Special in public schools of the District of Bauru "requested by the Public Ministry of the city and developed between 2016 and 2018.
