Abstract

The research aims to investigate the influence of gender threats and overcoming behavior on the satisfaction of women entrepreneurs in the family and at work. Two previous qualitative surveys have preceded this project and allowed the development of a typology of threats experienced by women entrepreneurs and the overcoming behaviors that helped facing their businesses. It is important to say that these projects were supported by FAPESP nº 2013/05928-1 (2013-2015) and nº 2015/25970-8 (2016-2018). Thus continuing the preceding studies, this research proposes the construction and validation of a scale of entrepreneurial threats and tests of the structural equation model to evaluate the proposed influence, following the logic of the nine steps of DeVellis (2016). It is qualitative and quantitative research, exploratory and descriptive, whose results will be processed through content analysis (Bardin, 1977) and by means of multivariate statistical techniques (Hair, et al., 2014). This instrument will be validated after its construction along with a sample group of women entrepreneurs. These women are engaged in the Women Entrepreneurial Network, all over Brazil. This network is based in São Paulo-SP and includes, approximately, 50 thousand registered entrepreneurs. The construction of the instrument and the model will contribute to the identification of the potential threats to female entrepreneurship and the influence on the satisfaction of entrepreneurs in the family and at work.
