Application of hyperspectral imaging technology in food of commercial interest for Peru and Brazil


Quality control in the food industry is carried out using chemical, physical and microbiological test. Some of these methods are slow, laborious and destructive. Nowadays it is possible to replace most of the drawbacks of these methods through indirect fast and non-destructive techniques. Hyperspectral systems is currently the state of the art in this field, finding different applications for determination of chemical composition and quality features of food and agricultural products. This technique offers a number of advantages over traditional methods of quality assessment, including ease of adaptation for online systems and the possibility of simultaneous determination of several attributes. However, there are few studies on the subject in emerging countries. This project aims to establish a collaboration between the research groups involved, developing the application of hyperspectral imaging in products of commercial interest for Peru and Brazil. The project aims to establish the collaboration between the groups involved, disseminating the research carried out and strengthening the link for future proposals to funding agencies. (AU)
