Aware of the benefits of partnerships with professors from foreign institutions of high level, the Postgraduate Program in Oral Biopathology of the Institute of Science and Technology (ICT) of UNESP at São José dos Campos intends to initiate a scientific partnership with Professor Dr. Bradley C. Johnston who currently holds the position of an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada, and is also the director and founder of NutriRECS - an international team that develops trusted nutrition recommendations. Dr. Johnston also holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University, where he teaches at the Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Workshop. Dr. Johnston is also an Associate Editor of the BMC Medical Research Methods and he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, including first author in renowned health journals such as JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, CMAJ and Pediatrics. Dr. Johnston's visit aims to initiate a multi center cross-sectional study on consumers' preferences and values for red and/or processed meat; conducting research in the field of clinical epidemiology; collaborate with the members of Unesp/ICT faculty in the development of research excellence; and conduct lectures in English on NutriRECS, Evidence Based Health and Clinical Epidemiology in our University Graduate Programs. The professor will also collaborate with the design of new projects, he will also participate in the discussions of ongoing research projects under his guidance and he will assist us in the writing and selection of periodicals for submission of articles whose phase is completed, fostering the internationalization of teaching and research at Unesp/ICT.
