Visual behaviour in driving simulation: a comparative study of immersive virtual reality and video-screen technologies

Dr. Rodrigues started collaborating with Dr. Navarro in 2013 due to mutual interests in understanding the role of the visual information in motor behaviour. Current ongoing projects reveal a great synergy between both research groups suggesting that the UK Academies/CONFAP Research Mobility funding would enable a more stable, productive and long-term sustainable collaboration. To achieve this goal, five research activities were planned to be carried out during the 3-month Dr. Navarro visiting period. The activities include the development of an experimental study, the collaboration in two ongoing projects, organisation and delivery of 3 academic events and a visit to two other institutions in cognate areas culminating in a broader project proposal write-up. As outcome from this project, it is expected the publication of three articles, students and staff skills development including the exchange of at least 1 PhD student and production of a collaborative project proposal targeting 2021 international bids.
