Abstract
The research project aims to analyses the cultural transfers between Latin America and Europe in the 1950's and its aesthetics and historical implications. In a first phase, the research focused on the so-called "Brazilian Constructive Project" in specific works from the visual arts as well as from the building and landscape architecture. In a second phase, the project is going to expand to the cities of Buenos Aires and Mexico. The project intends to continue a research that I developed with the same purposes and space division, but concerning the 1920's and 1930's. The project has three dimensions: the first is a conceptual review of the historiography on Latin-American Constructivism in the 1950's, with the proposed divisions; the second is a mapping of the movements and manifestations of the concrete art in the previously cited metropoles and the deepening of the analyses of specific works of building and landscape architecture as well as visual arts. The third dimension is the dissemination of the research results to an academic public from Iberian-American universities, through the presentation of results in a documentary, preparing for this objective visual and iconographic support material. The results of the research project concerning the 1920's were inserted in the context of the Project Modernisms of the South (Art History Institute/FCSH/UNL/FCT). The current proposal is part, also, of the Project "Iberian Modernisms and primitivistic imaginary", from the Art History Institute of the New University of Lisbon - IHA/FCSH/UNL/ FCT, in a partnership with Iberian universities, and it was elaborated in the context of the Iberian-American Cátedra 2017, Public notice-DERI-UNICAMP, in which I was awarded a scholarship for the Academic-Scientific Cooperation.
