Abstract

Celso de Souza Corsino ME, which uses also the name Hybrid e-Controls (www.hecontrols.com.br), is a company focused on the development and commercialization of electronic equipment dedicated to the diagnosis of diesel engines. The intelligent and functional solutions developed by the company equip the main transport vehicles of load and agricultural machines used in the country today. In addition to the development of products such as NOx Tester, equipment to evaluate the NOX probe and exhaust system and post-treatment of diesel vehicles with ARLA, the company also acts in the training and training of professionals in the area of repair and systems architecture control of diesel engines, focusing on the use of commercialized tools, diagnostic techniques and electronic repair of heavy-duty engine control centers (trucks and agricultural machines). The objective of this project is to carry out an innovative research based on Electronic Control Unit, with the intention of leading to a process of definition of the specifications and parameters suitable for the construction of a BiFuel ECU, which allows an engine initially designed for the diesel cycle, operate with diesel oil or with natural gas (NGV). The main application of the Biofuel ECU is for use in stationary engines with the purpose of generating electricity, originally fueled with diesel oil, in order to establish the minimum parameters and requirements necessary to obtain the appropriate characteristics (robustness, efficiency and low cost) for the efficient insertion of such a product into the market. The main technological challenges associated with the innovative research of a biofuel ECU that is capable of converting a common diesel engine into a CNG fueled engine are related to the electronic module and ECU control software. These challenges will be mitigated by the development of specific activities, carried out through the application of appropriate methodologies, based on calculations, design, assembly and configuration of the ECU, performance evaluation and preliminary analysis of technical feasibility. At the end of the innovative research to be carried out in the scope of this Project, the company intends to obtain conclusive results that indicate by the technical feasibility of the continuation in research and development of a bi-fuel control unit that allows a combustion engine of electric power generator to operate with diesel and with CNG, with characteristics of robustness, efficiency and low cost, aiming the efficient insertion of a product of this type in the market. This innovative research proposal will allow the Company to internalize knowledge, methodology and technology, so that the product innovation to be generated allows the company to be trained in product research and development for the automotive sector, strategically anticipating the growing environmental demands. This project has the potential to leverage the quality and breadth of the products and services provided by the company, so that there is a very positive commercial and technological impact for the Proposing Company, for the State of São Paulo, and for Brazil.
