Environmental education is a pedagogical practice that has its action focused on the relationships established between individuals, society and nature. Research in this area, therefore, may be focusing on the action itself or on the educational process itself. The research project proposed here aims to investigate the conceptions and educational environmental actions of teachers and the connection with the nature of their students, to better understand the educational process coming from the pedagogical approaches made in four rural schools in the north of Mato Grosso state, a territory known as Portal da Amazônia. The methodology will be qualitative, using techniques of participant observation and interview for data collection, as well as phenomenological and textual discursive analysis. The expected result with the use of these procedures is the generation of a deeper understanding of the conceptions and environmental actions carried out in rural schools, which may reflect in the strengthening of the resilience of rural socio-ecological systems in the region.
