Implementing good practices in intellectual property management and technology transfer through exchange between institutions that foster innovation in Latin America

Abstract

In the context of innovation, specifically within Brazilian public universities, one of the most important factors for the effective incorporation of inventions and scientific production carried out at university by society and the productive environment is the creation of a consistent process of technology transfer in its different forms. In this context, the present project is submitted to the second phase of the Program of Support to Intellectual Property of FAPESP and contemplates the implementation of measures, processes and methodologies that allow the creation of an environment favorable to innovation and consequently to a consistent transfer process of technology, based on the knowledge and experience acquired in phase 1. The project presents the following methodological outline: I. Review of the national and international literature and survey of best practices in science, technology and innovation management operated by universities; 11. Refinement of the initial diagnosis about the practices of InovaUFABC; 111. Event with specialists from Latin American universities; IV. Intervention of I" specialized advice; V. Implementation processes. The scope of the proposal and the proposed activities are based on a pictorial model that shows the centrality of three main fronts: 1) transfer of technology associated with intellectual property; 2) technological entrepreneurship associated with the incubation of technological companies; 3) technological and competitive intelligence (as a transversal area to the previous two).
