Abstract

Although there are different technologies for the treatment of domestic and industrial effluents, bioremediation is a safe, environmentally correct and cost-effective alternative to physical and/or chemical processes. The Ecobiotech company has developed its own equipment, with patents deposited, defined as automated systems for treatment and monitoring sewage and grease traps, without the need for human intervention. Currently, microbiological solutions available in the market are not able to fully meet customer needs due to their low efficiency, high cost and lack of specificity in relation to the different situations found, such as the fat constitution, pH and, mainly, temperature variations. The objective of this project is to develop a biocatalyst that can be used in industries and trade in food and beverages, residential condominiums, shopping malls, among others, to carry out the treatment and monitoring of clean water pollutants. For this, tests will be performed to find potential microorganisms producing hydrolytic and biosurfactant enzymes for the future larger scale production of the selected products. Thus, the research aims to define the adequate composition of potential enzymes and microorganisms that act in the bioremediation of the contaminated areas, which are superior in efficiency, compared to those already available in the market. With the development of a product to be used in the machines of the company, we will have greater operational efficiency and, consequently, reduction in the costs passed on to the clients. (AU)
