Abstract

This project proposition aims the development of a hardware device with sensors and communication system embedded, that is low cost to install and to provide maintence from a milk farmer point of view. This device must be put on cattle and might be able to detect precisely the heat on cow, informing the best moment to inseminate, improving the profitability of one of the most important part of a milk production process: the cattle fertility rate. With the technologies innovations such as the Internet of Things (IoT), plus the growing integration of clowd computing with new communication technologies, it will be possible to monitor the animal health on its own place. The bovine market in Brazil reached in 2016 the mark of 228 millions of animals, thereof 23 millions are for milk production and 205 millions for meat production. Nowadays, for a cattle farm to reach an efficient management is imperative to reduce costs all together with productivity gains. To milk farms, for instance, the productivity rate is deeply linked to how much time it takes for a cow to engage a new pregnancy since the last birth was given. A time reduction between pregnancies raises not only the milk production rate but also provides a faster genetic enhancement. In this scenario, the precision farming added to technologies solutions as the purposed on this project keeps a key role for Brazilian agribusiness, maximizing resources, reducing wastings and getting the best from the manpower available at the farm. Purposed on this project, keeps a key role, maximizing resources, reducing wantings and getting the correct and the best from the manpower available at the farm. (AU)
