Expansion of the Research Infrastructure of the Laboratory of Acquisition and Processing of Images and Signs of the University of Sorocaba (LAPISUS)

The project aims to complement the park of equipment allocated in the Laboratory of Acquisition and Processing of Images and Signs of the University of Sorocaba (LAPISUS). This Laboratory began to be assembled with the resources of Finep (MCTI / FINEP / CT-INFRA - PROINFRA - 02/2014 - Multiuser Equipment) with the acquisition of the following equipment: a) Scanning Electron Microscope, b) X-ray diffractor and c) Confocal Microscope. At the University of Sorocaba we have an X-ray Fluorescence equipment, which is currently allocated to the Laboratory of Applied Nuclear Physics (LAFINAU), but it is a limited equipment from the point of view of the flow of research that it involves, because it was an equipment assembled by the research group that I coordinate, using materials (X-ray source and detector) provided by Amptek Inc. As the X-Ray Fluorescence Technique, it is currently replacing several others previously used for elemental analysis, such as Plasma Induction Spectroscopy, the fluorescence equipment has not met the demand of researchers who have sought us both internally and externally. Within this context of improved research flow, we are requesting the acquisition of X-ray Fluorescence equipment and accessories used in the preparation of samples. This equipment will benefit the academic community as a whole, but more specifically the researchers and students linked to the Postgraduate Programs in Technological and Environmental Processes and the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences of University of Sorocaba. We are sure that with the acquisition of these equipments the number of students welcomed in this laboratory and the quality of the research works developed will grow. This Proposal was prepared considering the rules for use of the resources of the Institutional Technical Reserve granted by FAPESP. (AU)
